Rob Burger

Born and raised in New York, Rob Burger is a Portland based multi-instrumentalist, film composer, arranger, and music director. He is the co-founder of the chamber collective Tin Hat Trio, with whom he recorded four acclaimed albums. He made two solo records for John Zorn’s Tzadik label, entitled Lost Photograph and City of Strangers. Burger’s talents on piano, organ, accordion, guitar, and his arranging skills, have been used by Zorn, Bill Frisell, Elvis Costello, Marianne Faithfull, Rufus Wainwright, Iron & Wine, and Laurie Anderson. He was a soloist with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and has scored and contributed to acclaimed films such as “Everything Is Illuminated,” “The Disappearance Of McKinley Nolan,” “ Nebraska,” “Diminished Capacity,” “The Good Girl,” “Bully,” and “360.”  He has also scored commercials for clients such as Toyota, Mercedes-Benz, Scholastic, Safeway, and Memorial Sloan Kettering.
